Der Grund ist ganz einfach: Karten werden ohnehin in einen bestimmten Bereich der Festplatte kopiert. Halo 3 ist im Moment aber nicht in der Lage zu überprüfen ob sich bereits auf der HDD befindet. Somit werden die Karten immer noch in diesen Bereich kopiert und von dort aus geladen.
Bei der 360 ist es nun so: Kopiert man auf einer Festplatte von einer Partition in eine Andere, so dauert dieser Vorgang länger als würde man von einem anderen Device (wie dem DVD Laufwerk) Daten auf die HDD kopieren.
