Die Cocteau Twins waren eine schottische Rockband, die von 1979 bis 1997 existierte und zu den Pionieren des Dream Pop zählt. Der von ihr geprägte melancholische und verträumte Gitarrenpop beeinflusste eine Reihe von später gegründeten Bands, unter ihnen My Bloody Valentine, All About Eve, Lush, Bel Canto, Seefeel, Slowdive, Beach House und School of Seven Bells.
